Repo Men Review

Repo Men is a sci-fi thriller movie, that happens on a near future, where people can buy artificial organs on credit, and if they don’t pay on a period of 3 months, a man will make a visit to the owner to take back the organ, and they don’t care if the victim is alive, or are going to die during the process.
The movie tells the story of Remy (Jude Law), a family man who has a nice house, lives in a nice neighborhood and has a nice family. But his job isn’t this normal. He works as a repo man for The Union, an industry that creates and sells artificial organs to people. Remy and his best friend, Jake (Forest Whitaker) are the best repo men of The Union. Neither seems to concern that their job means that they are ‘legalized killers’. Everything was doing well, until Remy’s accident, which forces him to accept a heart from The Union. A heart that he can’t afford. Later, he sees himself running from his best friend in order to survive. Don’t think that the film is just going to be like that. The film does a 180° and changes everything. Remy goes to the underworld of the repo society, and then he meets Beth (Alice Braga) an outlaw that is running from the repo men. She helps him to survive the others repo men send by The Union.
The plot of the movie is quite original, but a little predictable. A man who wants to change his job in order to spend more time with his family, but something goes wrong and then he is forced to fight against his old friends in order to survive and come back to his family. During the way he meets a woman that he starts to like, they kiss each other and then she helps him to survive. But it is still a very exciting film.
There are many splatter gore scenes on the movie but, lots of humor either. The reason that I enjoyed it is because of the plot, the fights, the funny parts and, of course, because of Alice Braga. Although the other actors were quite good either. Well, if you like action, gore and humor on a single movie, you’ll enjoy Repo Men, like I did.
